The range includes the Flutter that works works by the patient exhaling into the device, this causes the ball-bearing inside the casing to vibrate. The vibrations travel back into the lungs, these vibrations loosen the mucus in the airways.

Gentle coughing then removes the mucus. Sessions normally last between 5 and 15 minutes.

The Flutter is simple to use, inexpensive, and fully portable, and once the patient and family are instructed in its use, it does not require the assistance of a caregiver. The Flutter is an effective alternative to physiotherapy.

As with all airway clearance devices it is very important that equipment is kept clean to prevent infection.

Please note these devices are not suitable for anybody that is suffering from the following conditions: severe tuberculosis, right sided heart failure,pneumothorax or haemoptysis (coughing up blood).
