The Porta-Thermal bags are the market leader in terms of minimal heat loss. Heat loss is only 0.55°C / hour, and that is without any coolant added which will extend the times.

The Porta -thermal bags vaccine quality is maintained using a cold chain that meets specific temperature requirements- between 2 and 8 degrees Celcius until the point of administration.The efficacy of vaccines depends on their temperature being kept within the range 2-8

Vaccine placed into a cool box with cool packs should be wrapped in bubble wrap similar insulation material , this will prevent direct contact between the vaccine and cool packs and will protect the vaccine from damage, such as being frozen.

Cool boxes and packing material should be stored at the lowest temperature possible prior to packing with the vaccine load and vaccine should be loaded as late as possible before departure to minimise exposure time out of the fridge.
