The Flexistim IF is intended for use in both the Hospital-GP Surgery  and home healthcare environments. 

Flexistim IF provides interferential therapy to treat conditions where inflammation is a problem such as back pain, muscular pain, and sports injuries, or where deep penetration of low frequency stimulation is required.

 

Flexistim IF is a powerful and versatile electrotherapy device that uses interferential therapy with a choice of pre-set programmes and manual settings. It can be used for both, hospital, and home healthcare environments to treat a variety of conditions using electric impulses.

 

The interferential therapy, or just IF, which is the core of this electrotherapy device is the type of treatment that delivers continuous stimulation deep into tissues. This way it is capable of dealing with deep seated pains.

Additionally, interferential therapy is used to reduce swelling and inflammation, both of which can sometimes be the source of the pain.

 

When Flexistim IF is in use, electrical impulses are sent through self-adhesive electrode pads which are placed on the skin around the area of pain. The impulses use IF to combat aches, pains, and strains to provide much needed relief when you need it most.

Please note

Do not use this device on patients who have a cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other implanted electronic devices, 

Do not use this device on patients whose pain syndromes are undiagnosed.

Do not apply stimulation over the pregnant uterus.

Do not apply stimulation over the neck or mouth because this could cause severe muscle spasms resulting in closure of the airway, difficulty in breathing, or adverse effects on heart rhythm or blood pressure.

Do not apply stimulation across the chest, because IFT currents penetrate deep into the tissue and the introduction of electrical current into the chest may cause rhythm disturbances to the patient’s heart, which could be lethal.

Do not apply stimulation, other than microcurrent, over open wounds or rashes, or over swollen, red, infected, or inflamed areas or skin eruptions (e.g., phlebitis, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins). 

Do not apply stimulation over, or in proximity to, cancerous lesions.

Do not apply stimulation in the presence of electronic monitoring equipment (e.g., cardiac monitors, ECG alarms), which may not operate properly when the electrical stimulation device is in use.
