Hysterectomy forceps are used to occlude blood vessels or ligaments attaching the uterus to the pelvic cavity & to cut during hysterectomy surgery.

 

It features a  flat blade and handle at a right angle to each other. This design allows the surgeon to retract the walls of the vagina without obstructing the view with his hands.
